Thunderbolts* | A Special Look

In this exclusive preview of the Marvel movie "Thunderbolts," a team of anti-heroes assemble to take on a mission that will change the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. The movie begins with a brief flashback to the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, highlighting the events that led to the formation of Taskmaster and the birth of the Thunderbolts. In the present, it is revealed that following the 2023 Quantumman movie, the world is still reeling from the consequences of the massive time disruption caused by Kang the Conqueror. Knowing this put the world in jeopardy has naturally made almost every nation on Earth fearful, and many security forces know they have to take tougher, more covert measures to ensure international safety. Yelena Belova, also known as the Black Widow, has always been driven by a strong sense of justice. After the devastating events that led to Natasha Romanoff's death in Avengers: Endgame, Yelena finds herself struggling to define her place in a world that seems to be governed by chaos and uncertainty. The turning point in her life arrives with the help of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a master manipulator and intelligence operative who sees Yelena's skills as the perfect asset to utilize for her own plans. As Valentina presents her plan to Yelena, they begin to secretly assemble a group of rogue agents with skills and expertise that could rival even the Avengers. The first to join this lineup is John Walker, also known as U.S. Agent, who has become increasingly disillusioned with his days as Captain America. Next to join is Red Guardian (played by David Harbour), a reanimated Soviet super-soldier whose former mentor was the great Red Guardian, giving him both high combat skills and deep knowledge of espionage. Red Guardian makes a smooth transition from military forces when offered the prospect of a high reward to complete private assignments anonymously. By associating with the team, he uses his resources to advance group and crew morale. Following that is Bucky Barnes, now free from the influence of the Winter Soldier brainwashing and the sinister control exerted by HYDRA. He hopes this special new opportunity will grant him redemption and genuine human friendship. Unlike others in the recruitment process, Bucky already knows Yelena closely and starts with no doubts about joining her in this endeavor. Finally, there's War Machine, James "Rhodey" Rhodes, known for his ingenuity, sophistication, and, predominantly, control of the ultra-charged War Machine suit. Conflicted Rhodey fights through his doubts, keeping faith with past loyalty and being driven by a commitment that binds him closely to Tony Stark, who ultimately served to seal his inclusion. Under the guise of the Thunderbolts, this powerful team, with a complicated alliance, emerges to take advantage of the newly fragile state in the world, endeavoring to push the world further towards the real kind of security the globe needs. Although seemingly led by Yelena, her allies make their mark soon enough. In a series of covert operations – from counter-proliferation to high-stakes betrayals – this once-disbanded team becomes an intricate force once again becoming one of the world's most formidable agencies. As the task of the Thunderbolts progresses and deepens, many are left questioning loyalties and true intentions. The world they want to change questions its own identity in return. It's uncertain what battles lie ahead for this intriguing group of defectors who are possibly willing to stop nothing from carrying out their newfound mission, even if it might lead to unprecedented consequences that propel the world forward in unexpected ways.
