Tricky Brains

Plot
The movie opens with a comedic and light-hearted tone as we meet the "Tricky Expert", played by Ekin Cheng, a master manipulator who has the skills to deceive and mislead anyone. His talents are in high demand, and he's hired by a mysterious patron to sabotage the lives of a seemingly ordinary family. The objective is to make them believe that the Tricky Expert is one of their own, a member of their family. The family in question consists of a widowed father, played by Eric Tsang, and his eccentric and playful son, played by Raymond Wong Ho-yin. The duo lives a simple and mundane life in a small apartment in the city. Unbeknownst to them, the Tricky Expert infiltrates their daily lives by creating a series of events that convinces them he's their long-lost brother or uncle who has returned from overseas. At first, the family is skeptical of the Tricky Expert's claims, but his antics and clever tricks gradually win them over. He starts making them believe that he's a part of their family by getting them to adopt certain norms and rituals that they never thought to do without. For instance, they start attending church together on Sundays, and even adopt a new dog that the Tricky Expert helps them care for. Meanwhile, the Tricky Expert continues to play his tricks on the family, often pushing them to extreme and absurd situations. For instance, he convinces the father to participate in a ridiculous talent show, while he secretly rigs the event to make it look like the father is the real star. The family becomes more and more enthralled by their new family member, who they affectionately start calling "Ah Chak" (which roughly translates to "Uncle"). As the chaos escalates, the family becomes increasingly dependent on Ah Chak, and their lives start to resemble a surreal and never-ending comedy routine. The father starts to neglect his work and becomes overly protective of Ah Chak, while the son becomes obsessed with his new "brother" and starts to idolize him. The family dynamics are turned upside down, and it's not clear what's real and what's just part of the Tricky Expert's elaborate charade. Throughout the film, Ekin Cheng's character constantly breaks the fourth wall and addresses the audience, often to reveal the next twist in his plan or to explain the thought process behind his latest trick. The film's use of slapstick comedy, wordplay, and over-the-top performances add to the sense of chaos and absurdity, making it a wild and unpredictable ride. In the climax of the film, the family discovers that Ah Chak is not who he claims to be. However, instead of getting angry and rejecting him, they're shocked and heartbroken by the revelation. They realize that they've grown attached to Ah Chak, and that he's become a part of their lives. The film's tone shifts slightly as the family confronts the Tricky Expert, pleading with him to stay and be a part of their family. However, Ekin Cheng's character refuses to reveal his true identity and leaves the family. In an unexpected twist, it's revealed that the family's patron, who hired the Tricky Expert in the first place, is actually the father's long-lost brother who's been keeping tabs on the family from afar. The film ends on a heartwarming note as the family comes to terms with what's happened and the father finally gets reacquainted with his biological brother. The Tricky Expert is seen riding off into the sunset, ready for his next adventure.
