Uncle Drew

Uncle Drew is a 2018 sports comedy film directed by Charles Stone III and based on a fictional character created by Chris Robinson, a screenwriter and filmmaker. The film is a spin-off of the 2012 Pepsi commercial "Uncle Drew" that gained significant popularity and acclaim. The story revolves around an elderly man named Dax Loenen, played by Kyra Sedgwick, who tries to help her grandson, Darryl, played by Lil' Rel Howery, overcome his financial struggles and a lack of self-confidence. After a series of auditions and encounters, he identifies a group of former basketball stars in their twilight years, all of whom possess exceptional skills and a deep passion for the game. These talented players are then brought together under the umbrella of their team, known as 'The Golden Balls.' The core players of the team are introduced as follows: B'Dawg, played by Reggie Miller, the former NBA shooting guard who brings his deadly accuracy from behind the three-point line; Boots, played by Chris Webber, the athletic forward with an incredible court presence; Smalls, played by Nick KROLL, the tenacious and energetic power forward; and Big Fella, played by Lisa Leslie, one of the greatest female players in basketball history. This motley crew of players is then assembled under the guidance of Dax and, to everyone's surprise, forms an unbreakable bond.
