Set in the tumultuous Joseon Dynasty, "Uprising" is a gripping tale of loyalty, betrayal, and redemption, as two childhood friends find themselves on opposite sides of a fierce conflict. The story follows the journey of Prince Do-shin, a noble and chivalrous young nobleman who has always cherished his friendships with the humble servants of the royal court. One such friend is an intelligent and resourceful young man named Ha-eun, who has served Prince Do-shin since childhood. The two share a deep bond, forged through countless adventures and misadventures in the palace. As they grow older, Ha-eun becomes deeply invested in the inner workings of the royal court, learning the intricacies of politics and intrigue that govern the Joseon Dynasty. As the years pass, the Joseon Dynasty finds itself threatened by a ruthless and cunning leader, Minister Jo-seon, who seeks to overthrow the weak and elderly King Seonjo. Prince Do-shin is forced to confront the harsh realities of the treacherous world of politics, as he witnesses his friends and comrades fall victim to the scheming of Minister Jo-seon. Determined to protect his people and bring justice to those responsible, Prince Do-shin secretly infiltrates the minister's inner circle, gathering information and gathering allies to facilitate a rebellion. Unbeknownst to Do-shin, Ha-eun, driven by his unwavering loyalty, seeks to serve under Minister Jo-seon's banner, becoming his trusted aide. As tensions escalate, the landscape of the Joseon Dynasty is forever altered. Prince Do-shin, master leader to the rebels, master strategist, unites the bravest men from across the kingdom. With each successive victory he gains, Minister Jo-seon resorts to more drastic measures, culminating in the execution of prisoners of war, the families torn apart, together with social unrest spreading across the country. With each passing day, the situation grows increasingly dire, as Do-shin finds himself separated from Ha-eun by a vast chasm of loyalty, principle, and deception.
