In the midst of a chaotic and often overwhelming urban landscape, George (Paul Rudd) and Linda (Jennifer Aniston) are a Manhattan couple struggling to find their footing in the world. George, a charismatic but aimless writer, has just lost his job, while Linda, a free-spirited yogi, is feeling increasingly disenchanted with the stifling routine of city life.
