Wanted

Plot
Wesley Gibson, a socially insignificant office worker, trudged through his mundane daily routine as if shackled by the dull monotony that had become his life. Every aspect of his being screamed for an escape, but it seemed fate had other plans for him. That was until the fateful day when he met Fox, an enigmatic beauty who was to be the catalyst for his desolate journey into a secret world of assassins. This chance encounter sparked a series of events that would shake the very foundations of Wesley's existence. Not only did Fox infiltrate Wesley's life, but she also revealed to him that his deceased father was a member of the Fraternity, an elite, albeit mysterious, society of skilled assassins. Wesley was bewildered, having harbored a sense of disillusionment towards his estranged father. He never knew him, and his father's cold demeanor only solidified Wesley's resolve to not involve himself in his family's complexities. As fate would have it, Wesley's mother had a change of heart and informs him of his father's death. However, word had it that his father's demise wasn't an accident; he had been brutally slaughtered in an event orchestrated by Cross, an enemy from within the Fraternity. Overwhelmed with thoughts and confusion, Wesley visited the Fraternity to find answers about his father and claim his spot within its ranks. As soon as Wesley entered the Fraternity, he was swept away by his new acquaintances. There's Sloan, the charismatic leader of the Fraternity, who guided and mentored him with unwavering firmness. What initially seemed like cold calculation was, in fact, a demonstration of boundless passion and strong character, making Sloan the master he was. It didn't take long for Wesley to become acutely aware of the brutal, callous world that the Fraternity inhabited. Here, human life held very little value, and rules were designed to be mercilessly applied. He faced a litany of challenges, each grueling and meant to hone and cultivate his raw talent. As Fox was one of these expert assassins, she also took on a crucial mentorship role, helping Wesley master his embryonic capability. Throughout his rigorous training, Wesley was forced to confront the ambiguity of human nature. At every step, he was shown the dark truth of individuals' limitless potential for cruelty and redemption. These teachings led him to question the wisdom of leading such a double-edged life. Fittingly so, the nature of the Fraternity and its relationship with fate unraveled once more in front of his disillusioned eyes. However, despite having various queries about the Fraternity, Wesley could not neglect the sense of victory that brewed within him upon successfully executing his missions. With every pass, he shed his prior, helpless self. It was refreshing but also sobering - an undeniable sense of the fine line he had crossed, now living among assassins and the irreversibility that had been woven ever since. As the threads got tangled, certain inconsistencies grew prominent. Contrary to their code of secrecy, information leaked among Fraternity members, while another equally secretive foe held position amongst them. It paved the way for internal strife, internal deceit, and eventually opened the gates of catastrophic consequences. Surrounded by a labyrinthine mix of revelations, Wesley wrestled with whether or not to turn away from his new path and the trust he now had for his mentors. Was he convinced that the inner workings of the Fraternity were what drove it toward fulfilling a divine mission? In all his observations, the question was unclear - that the hierarchy was twisted and tainted, rather than orchestrated and just.
