We Girls

Plot

In the film "White Deer Plain" may be what you're confusing with this information - I believe you are talking about "We Girls" (also known as "Female Prisoner Re-教育"). For "Female Prisoner Re-教育", the story revolves around a deaf-mute woman, Black Girl, who is an inmate in a correctional institution. After using more information about this movie, we see Deng Hong, a senior officer, recognizes a prisoner, named White Fox, whose sign language expertise allows her to connect with a deaf-mute woman by the name Black Girl. In order to help Black Girl integrate into the larger prison population and receive proper rehabilitation, Deng assigns White Fox to supervise her transformation and help her regain her communication skills. However, as time progresses it becomes evident that White Fox's goal is not entirely altruistic. White Fox's purpose is to form a bond with Black Girl and eventually collaborate with her to create a system through which the two can make money once their sentences have been completed. It becomes increasingly evident that White Fox has her own personal agenda for being assigned to supervise Black Girl's rehabilitation, one that plays heavily on a deeper emotional connection with Black Girl. The two women - Black Girl, who communicates only through hand gestures, and the resourceful White Fox - then manage to use techniques they both have picked up during their time inside to find ways to prosper once they've finished their time. On Black Girl's eventual release from the correctional facility, both of these women start doing business together by searching out opportunities where they can profit from their partnership. There are subtle interactions between Black Girl and White Fox within the system that reveal the dark underbelly of the correctional facility, human relationships, and how the characters form bonds and carry out plans while trying to thrive.
