In the quaint suburban town of Green Bay, Wisconsin, four lifelong friends and neighbors, Doug Madsen, Woody Stevens, Bobby Davis, and Dudley Frank, are stuck in the doldrums of their mundane lives. Each of them feels suffocated by the monotony of their daily routines, the monotony of their jobs, and above all, the feeling of being held back by the strict societal norms that govern the suburban way of life. They all have a deep-seated desire to break free from their mundane lives and indulge in the excitement that life has to offer. And one day, that opportunity presents itself in the form of an open road. Doug, the initial catalyst for this adventure, is a divorced man in his early 50s who is struggling to find his identity. He's a man who has always lived by the rules and has never taken a risk in his life. But with the support and encouragement of his friends, Doug decides to abandon his comfortable home and join his friends on an adventure. Woody is a man in his late 50s who works as a dentist, having spent the better part of his life stuck in the same boring routine as his friends. Bobby Davis and Dudley Frank, both friends with wives, children, and jobs, share the same sentiments, they yearn for freedom and want to recapture the spark that their youth once held. The four friends embark on a cross-country road trip from Wisconsin to California, with the sole intention of riding their Harley-Davidsons on the open road, enjoying the thrill of the journey, and getting a taste of the great American adventure. Along the way, they experience the vastness of the country's geography, diverse landscapes, and vibrant cultures. During their journey, they share numerous laughs, make lifelong memories, and rekindle the spirit of their youth. However, their peace is short-lived as they stumble upon an intimidating gang of bikers known as the Del Fuegos. The Del Fuegos are a ruthless motorcycle gang that terrorizes the New Mexican desert, intimidating travelers, and spreading fear and unease wherever they go. Led by their menacing leader, Chip Kennedy, the Del Fuegos are not just any ordinary gang; they are seasoned bikers who are highly skilled and fearless. Upon encountering the Del Fuegos, Doug, Woody, Bobby, and Dudley are initially wary, given the group's fearsome reputation. However, the group is eventually befriended by a laid-back biker, Bobby 'The Kid,' who takes them under his wing and teaches them invaluable lessons about the way of the road and about themselves.
