Here is a brief summary of the movie "Wuthering Heights": Against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moorlands in northern England during the late 18th century, a tumultuous and enduring love story unfolds. The narrative begins with the arrival of young Heathcliff, a scrappy and resourceful orphan, at Wuthering Heights, an isolated farm owned by Mr. Earnshaw. The gentle giant's kind heart is captured by theEarnshaws' daughter Cathy, who becomes his confidante and closest friend. As the years pass, Heathcliff forms a deep bond with Cathy, sharing a love of nature and wild freedom that resonates deeply with her own adventurous spirit. Meanwhile, Edgar Linton, the refined and wealthy son of a neighboring estate, awakens to the charms of Catherine's beauty and poise, marking the beginning of a complex web of emotions. Heathcliff's tumultuous relationship with Cathy reaches a boiling point when she marries Edgar, leaving Heathcliff heartbroken and bitter. His subsequent descent into darkness is fueled by his intense longing for Cathy, which only intensifies as he becomes increasingly obsessed with the idea of reclaiming her love. Throughout the film, Emily Brontë's iconic novel is brought to vivid life through stunning cinematography, capturing the harsh yet breathtaking beauty of the Yorkshire moors. Heathcliff is a character almost tailor-made for Ralph Fiennes.

Ralph Fiennes needs to take a good look in the mirror and realize just how breathtakingly handsome he is!

RF’s portrayal is a mad, passionate Heathcliff – my Heathcliff! My exotic prince, at last brought to life.

Never imagined giving a 2-star to a Binoche and Fiennes film. Fiennes is completely over-the-top like Ma Jingtao in this one...

Given the limitations of the film's length, many plot points are glossed over, and the extensive time span makes the narrative feel somewhat episodic. However, the score is absolutely outstanding – profoundly grand, both sorrowful and bleak. The actors deliver nuanced performances. These stories of love morphing into hatred, leading to mad and absolute revenge, always leave one sighing. Heathcliff's obsession and ruthlessness destroy countless lives and happiness, but I think Catherine is also partly to blame for that.
