[C-] This was painfully bad; how could they make something so boring? It literally took me a week to finish this garbage. For a blockbuster with a budget of $175 million, there were barely any grand scenes, the action choreography was uninspired, and the plot was pure soap opera drivel. Yu Zheng's "Palace" series has more drama than this. Trash. Negative score. Get lost.

Surprisingly faithful to the original tale, which I doubt most Americans will grasp. Where did the $175 million go? I reckon Tsui Hark could've pulled it off with a fraction of that, some parts felt very reminiscent of Painted Skin, actually.

A decent fantasy-infused historical fiction film, not nearly as bad as some critics make it out to be. Keanu Reeves looks ageless without any eye bags, which is in stark contrast to Tadanobu Asano, who is nine years his junior. Keanu's ageless wonder is not an exaggeration; his genes are truly powerful.

The Western perception of Japan. No matter how much Japan tries to Westernize, Westerners still don't truly understand it. After failing to grasp Japan, it's no surprise that Hollywood's various nonsensical portrayals of Chinese culture feel so strange. Four stars solely for Rinko Kikuchi.

In '47 Ronin', a timeless tale of loyalty and sacrifice unfolds as a group of outcast samurai embark on a perilous quest for vengeance against the treacherous overlord who wronged them. With stunning visuals and intense action sequences, the film explores the unwavering bonds of honour and brotherhood that drive these warriors to reclaim their rightful place in a society that has shunned them. Despite some flaws, the film's rugged charm and visceral action sequences make for a compelling watch.

A visually stunning and action-packed retelling of Japan's legendary folklore. "47 Ronin" brings a unique blend of history and fantasy to the screen, with Keanu Reeves delivering a strong performance as Kai, the outcast samurai. The film's stunning scenery, beautiful costumes, and impressive fight choreography make it a thrilling ride from start to finish. Though it takes some creative liberties with the original legend, the movie successfully captures the spirit of bushido and the samurai code of honor.
