Call The Midwife Season 14 (Season 14)

Back to 1971. This series remains a solid five stars. However, Timothy, my beloved, is still absent after missing the last Christmas special... May is finally a Turner! The only bugbear is Cyril, the Black social worker – how impatient could he be, getting involved with Nurse Rosalind before finalizing his divorce from Lucia? Utterly speechless... But according to my mystical yet scientific theory of watching dramas, this pairing reminds me of the previous pastor-nurse couple, Tom and Barbara, which feels ominous...

I'm giving this series 5 stars. Be aware that the first real jerk of the series has arrived! That Black social worker, truly the first scumbag of the series, hiding behind the guise of being a Christian, is now showing his true colors! Thankfully, the writers course-corrected in time. The story has moved into 1971, and the various social problems and conflicts mirror those of contemporary American society. It looks like RFK Jr. is set to become the Secretary of Health."

This season is the best in years! I love the new character; she's genuine, devout, vibrant, yet hesitant. In an era of healthcare reform and a crisis for the Order, she swims against the tide to take her vows – perhaps becoming a nun or a lesbian are fundamentally the same. The world is chaotic, relationships are complex, historical traumas are replicated, deformed, and passed down through generations, but love, music, and calling flow on endlessly.

I absolutely adored this season finale! The wedding was beautiful, filled with so much love. It seems like Nancy's storyline has come to a satisfying end, and I'm so happy for that "free-spirited" girl. The narrative that "a young mother's life is ruined" is ridiculous. Wishing her all the happiness! Little May's adoption was also finalized this season, officially making her a Turner. This season wasn't just about midwifery; I also really enjoyed some of the patient care storylines. I'm not sure if there will be another season, but if there is, I'll definitely be watching. I just love these heartwarming stories; they nourish and comfort me.
