In the vibrant, ancient city of Jerusalem, Ben has grown weary of his family's persistent attempts to find him a suitable match. The tradition of arranged marriages is deeply ingrained in his faith, and it seems that every opportunity he has to escape this fate is constantly foiled by his well-meaning but meddling relatives. Desperate for a change of scenery, Ben agrees to embark on a mission to Alexandria, a once-thriving Jewish community that is now struggling to find a tenth man to complete their Passover celebration. Ben boards a flight to Alexandria, but due to a series of unfortunate events, he finds himself missing his connecting flight. As he frantically searches for a way to reach his destination, he is forced to hitch a ride on a bus traveling through the arid Sinai Desert. However, his luck doesn't improve, and he is subsequently thrown off the bus after a heated argument with the driver. Left stranded and vulnerable in the middle of the desert, Ben is confronted by a gruff and grumpy Bedouin, who is frantically searching for his lost camel. The Bedouin, whose name is Amr, is a complex and charismatic individual, whose rugged exterior hides a deep sense of compassion and kindness. Despite their initial animosity towards each other, Ben and Amr develop an unlikely bond, with Amr agreeing to help Ben reach Alexandria in return for some much-needed assistance. As they journey through the desert together, Ben and Amr engage in a series of witty and humorous conversations, punctuated by intense moments of drama and tension. Along the way, they encounter a range of eccentric characters, including a group of nomadic musicians, a quirky tourist who is lost in the desert, and a mysterious figure who seems to be watching them from the shadows. Through their interactions with these characters, Ben and Amr begin to learn more about each other's cultures, traditions, and values. Ben learns about the rich history and customs of the Bedouin people, while Amr is introduced to the vibrant and dynamic world of Jewish culture. As they share stories and laughter, they begin to form a deep and unbreakable friendship, one that transcends their differences and speaks to the fundamental humanity that unites them. Despite the challenges they face, Ben and Amr remain determined to reach Alexandria, where Ben hopes to find the community in need and complete their Passover celebration. Along the way, they experience moments of triumph and heartbreak, but through it all, their bond remains strong, a testament to the power of friendship and the human spirit. As they finally reach the outskirts of Alexandria, Ben and Amr are met with a mix of emotions. Ben is greeted by the warm smiles and welcoming arms of the Jewish community, who are grateful for his timely arrival. Meanwhile, Amr is forced to confront the reality of a life without his lost camel, a poignant reminder of the fragility and unpredictability of life in the desert. In the end, Ben and Amr part ways, but their friendship remains a powerful and enduring force that inspires and uplifts those around them. Though they come from different worlds and possess different cultures, their shared human experience has brought them closer together, reminding us that even in the most challenging and unlikely circumstances, friendship and companionship can be a life-changing and transformative force.
