A good story dragged down by a director whose brain seems to have gone numb. The fact that it could be filmed so badly makes me suspect that Shyamalan's success with "The Sixth Sense" had little to do with him, and perhaps he just happened to have a good team and assistant director. The level of this film is even lower than that of a student director. The casting is also a complete disaster. I actually walked out early for the first time ever, because it was simply too awful to watch. The 2 stars are for the passable special effects.
