A Day

A Day's narrative unravels around the father-daughter dynamics of Glenn King, played by Forest Whitaker, and his daughter Willa, portrayed by Mo'Nique. Their relationship is forged in an intense bond created after they almost lost Willa to a severe asthma attack three years prior, which Glenn managed to overcome through sheer force of will and the help of his medical knowledge as an ER doctor. Their intense bond however has become a strain on the relationship, as Glenn has started to be overbearingly clingy and suffocating with Willa, often taking away her independence and autonomy as a young adult. This suffocating dynamic is especially evident when Glenn moves in with Willa, citing his concerns for her health, but in reality, he is unable to cope with the prospect of losing her again. This overprotectiveness is tested when Willa gets involved in a car accident.
