Trama
In "Conan il Distruttore", Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) viene assunto dalla perfida Regina Taramis (Sarah Douglas) per scortare la Principessa Jehnna (Olivia d'Abo) e la sua leale guardia del corpo Malakai (Tracey Walter) in un castello distante. La missione è recuperare il magico Corno di Dagoth, che detiene il potere di portare distruzione sulla terra. A insaputa di Conan, Taramis ha secondi fini nell'affidargli questa pericolosa missione. Cerca di usare il potere del corno per resuscitare il suo oscuro maestro stregone, Dagoth, e scatenare il caos sul mondo. Mentre Conan attraversa paesaggi insidiosi e combatte formidabili nemici, inizia a sospettare che qualcosa non quadri. Classic, mysterious, fantastic, adventurous. Grace Jones looks bizarre and scary enough to make small children cry in this one. But the ensemble is great, and although it doesn't have the eerie mystery of the first Conan the Barbarian, it's still super entertaining.

Released in 1984, *Conan the Destroyer* arrived a few months before *The Terminator*. Many people still get these two movies mixed up. A different director took the helm, and Richard Fleischer, being more experienced (and older) than John Milius, shifted the core settings from the open landscapes of the original to underground tunnels and mazes. The widescreen format might be relevant to this change. Adding basketball giant Wilt Chamberlain shows that the concept of a Schwarzenegger film villain being physically more imposing than the world-class bodybuilder himself wasn't a flash of brilliance from the *Predator* director three years later; it was already in play here.
