あらすじ

The fact that this unbearable, unwatchable trash wasn't "cleaned up" is an insult to its very name 😅. This girlboss flop was destined from the trailers. Daisy still thinks she can cash in on woke DEI benefits in this day and age – she's never going to recover. I used to feel sorry for her, but now it's just pathetic. And she's trying to exploit environmentalism this time? 🤣 Well, then she deserves to lose big.
Zoe
The hero can beat up the villains but can't kill them off. The set-piece action is great, but the close-quarters combat is poorly designed. It always resorts to the tired trope of the villain dying because they talked too much and hesitated. If the main villain had just made his goals clear from the start and let others figure things out, this whole situation could have been avoided.

The final episode attempted to salvage the situation, and even featuring more close-ups of Ming-Na Wen couldn't rescue this unremarkable and terrible movie.

2.5 stars. Martin's filmmaking skills seem to be declining. The female lead has a decent presence, but the movie is too slow and cliché. Also, everything is trying to be a "strong female lead" film these days, but the execution falters. (Has Martin been making a lot of these "strong female lead" movies lately? None of them are particularly good.)

The opening is stunning, yet the plot becomes too oppressive. I'd rate it a solid 4 stars, but I ultimately gave up on it. As a foreign viewer, I'm more interested in seeing Ray Donovan's almost magical 'cleaner' life. But in the US, audiences seem to be more concerned with family values and ethical debates, with the 'cleaner' aspect just a facade. So, all those deep dives into drug addiction, adultery, Parkinson's, priest rape, a bitchy wife, a pixie-like mistress – they just became a burden for me.

Are these actors, who are actually recognizable names, all in debt like Cage, or did they sign some Draconian streaming contract while drunk, obligating them to churn out 100 films, no matter how bad? This is the kind of stuff that would have gotten you booed out of a video store back in the '90s...

If you're a fan of Daisy Ridley, this might be worth a watch. It's like a female-led "Die Hard" in some ways. The director's control over the visuals and overall style is decent. However, the plot is just too weak and formulaic. It feels outdated and the special effects are subpar, probably due to the low budget.

Even judged as the premiere episode of a new series, this feels overloaded with information. It's like the writers crammed the entire episode with character relationships without considering how bewildering it would be for new viewers. On top of that, the story itself isn't particularly captivating. I'd say it's pretty average overall.

The lead actor's face is a bit too chubby, and his clueless family members are frustrating to watch... Four stars for the actor's impressive physique, his decisive personality, his knack for solving other people's problems, the humor sprinkled throughout, and the tight, well-paced plot.
