The snake models are well-crafted, and the visual effects, while being just average, are still significantly better than most domestic effects work. The movie emphasizes an important concept: the Hayflick limit. Each cell stops dividing and enters a period of aging after replicating itself 56 times. The 56th time is the Hayflick limit. This is because telomeres, which are connected to each cell's DNA, shorten slightly after each new cell division, until they reach a limit where they can no longer shorten. This leads to the aging and death of the human body...
