Coneheads
Plot
In the 1993 comedy film "Coneheads", a pair of extraterrestrial beings from the planet Remulak, Beldar and Prymatt, arrive on Earth to prepare for an invasion. However, their spaceship crash-lands in New Jersey, leaving them stranded and forced to navigate human society. The Coneheads, as they are known, have distinctive cone-shaped heads, stiff-legged robot-like movements, and a peculiar fondness for toilet paper. As they attempt to repair their ship, they must also contend with the intricacies of human culture, including awkward social interactions, bizarre customs, and peculiar food habits. Beldar, the more experienced and serious-minded Conehead, tries to keep his species' invasion plans on track while Prymatt, the more excitable and naive one, becomes enamored with Earth's quirks. Their attempts at assimilation lead to a series of hilarious misunderstandings, mishaps, and misadventures. As the Coneheads attempt to repair their ship, they must also evade detection by humans, including a suspicious government agent, who begins to suspect that something is amiss. Meanwhile, Prymatt becomes smitten with a human woman, Connie, and Beldar tries to convince his fellow alien that it's not possible for them to form emotional connections with humans. "Coneheads" pokes fun at various aspects of American culture, from politics and social norms to pop culture and technological advancements. With its witty script, absurd humor, and clever satire, the film becomes a humorous commentary on the human condition, as seen through the eyes of our cone-headed friends.

Feels so wonderfully Conehead-dumb.

A cast full of SNL alumni couldn't save this utterly clueless film. It barely scratches the surface of human absurdity, and its attempts to highlight the alien world's hyper-logical absurdity fall flat. It wastes precious time on mundane family life and a daughter's romance... Simply transplanting a sci-fi perspective onto a bizarre family and squeezing out a few chuckles isn't exactly what I'd call impressive.
