Despicable Me 3

Plot
In the third installment of the Despicable Me franchise, director Kyle Balda brings back beloved characters Steve Carell's Gru and Kristen Wiig's Lucy along with Minions to battle new villain Balthazar Bratt, a former 80s pop sensation turned world domination enthusiast. The movie seamlessly integrates humor, heart, and new characters, making it a thrilling ride for both fans of the original Minion film and those new to the franchise. The film opens with Gru being visited by the Anti-Villain League (AVL), a secret organization tasked with keeping villains in check. AVL's director, Highbrige, informs Gru that a former child star from the 1980s, Balthazar Bratt, is wreaking havoc and planning to dominate the world. Bratt, once a teen idol known for his hit song 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun,' has now matured into a power-hungry, eccentric villain with a penchant for 80s aesthetics. As Gru sets off to stop Bratt, Lucy begins to feel like an outcast in Gru's life. With Gru's constant focus on saving the world and fighting crime, Lucy is left to deal with their twin daughters Margo and Edith's growing pre-teen angst and rivalry. Feeling underappreciated, Lucy decides to explore her own career aspirations away from AVL. However, her decision inadvertently puts their family and Gru in harm's way, creating unnecessary tension. Gru, still in denial about Bratt's plans to destroy the world, is initially unimpressed by Bratt's antics. The villain's plans are seemingly nonsensical, with Bratt planning to take over the world with nothing but his charm, musical talents, and collection of 80s memorabilia. As the Minions, led by Stuart, Kevin, and Bob, join forces with Gru's AVL counterpart, Dru, Gru's identical twin brother who has a more laid-back and family-oriented personality, they begin to uncover Bratt's sinister plans. Meanwhile, Gru's family starts to unravel with tensions between Lucy and Gru at an all-time high. Lucy feels neglected as Gru focuses solely on the mission at hand, and Margo becomes disillusioned with her mother's seemingly mundane life away from the action-packed world of AVL. Amidst all this chaos, Dru becomes Gru's ally, as the two try to outdo each other in a battle for Gru's affections and attention as his father. The rivalry between Gru and Dru brings an interesting dynamic to the film, with Gru struggling to understand why Dru is more laid-back and less driven by a desire for villainy than Gru. As Gru delves deeper into the world of Bratt, he also starts to question his own identity and whether or not being a villain is truly what he wants. With tensions simmering between Gru and Lucy, a thrilling finale unfolds when the whole family must band together to stop Bratt and his army of minions from taking over the world. Gru must confront his own fears and desires, learn to let go of his desire to be a villain, and understand the true meaning of family and love. Ultimately, Bratt is defeated as Gru's family comes together to stop him. The movie concludes with Gru returning to his more normal life with his lovely wife, kids, and the rest of their eccentric family, realizing that family and love are the true treasures of a happy life. The film wraps up on a light-hearted note, teasing fans with the possibility of more adventures from the lovable Minions family.
