Plot

Dr. Nathan Conrad, a renowned psychiatrist in New York, has his life turned upside down when his 15-year-old daughter, Jessie, is kidnapped in broad daylight. The kidnappers, a group of ruthless and calculating individuals, make contact with Nathan and demand that he break through to his patient, Elisabeth "Lizzy" Allen, a shell-shocked young woman suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They inform Nathan that Lizzy knows a six-digit code, which holds the key to Jessie's release. Lizzy, played by Dina Meyer, is a fragile and disturbed girl who was caught up in a traumatic event, a school shooting, several years ago. She is unable to recall the details of the massacre, and as a result, she has repressed the memories of that fateful day. Nathan has been working with Lizzy, employing unconventional techniques to get her to open up and confront her demons. However, Lizzy's mental state is fragile, and Nathan is aware that pushing her too hard could have disastrous consequences. Despite the risks, Nathan is desperate to save his daughter, and he agrees to play along with the kidnappers' demands. He begins to use his skills as a psychiatrist to coax Lizzy into revealing the code. As the days pass, Nathan finds himself drawn into a world of uncertainty and fear, where everything he thought he knew about his patient is turned upside down. Lizzy's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, and Nathan starts to question her guilt in the kidnapping of Jessie. As Nathan continues to work with Lizzy, he begins to unravel the mystery of the school shooting and its aftermath. He discovers that Lizzy's memories are fragmented and disjointed, and he realizes that her recollections of the event are intertwined with those of her classmates. Nathan becomes convinced that Lizzy is not directly responsible for the code but is, instead, a key witness to the events that transpired. The closer Nathan gets to uncovering the truth, the more he realizes that the kidnappers are not playing a simple game. They are using Lizzy as a pawn in a larger scheme, and Nathan is starting to suspect that there may be multiple victims involved. As the stakes grow higher, Nathan becomes increasingly obsessed with finding Jessie and exposing the truth behind the kidnapping. In a dramatic and intense confrontation, Nathan discovers the shocking truth about Lizzy's involvement in the school shooting and the role she played in the events leading up to it. He also learns that the kidnappers are not interested in the code itself but in the information it holds. The six-digit number is a password that will grant them access to a computer system containing sensitive information about the victims of the school shooting. As Nathan confronts the kidnappers, he realizes that the only way to save Jessie is to find the password and decode it. In a heart-stopping climax, Nathan works with Lizzy to unlock the password, and in doing so, he is able to rescue his daughter from the clutches of her abductors. However, the aftermath of the kidnapping leaves Nathan reeling. He is left to grapple with the consequences of Lizzy's actions, and he must come to terms with the fact that his patient played a role in the tragic events of the school shooting. The experience has a profound impact on Nathan, forcing him to confront the darker corners of his own psyche and the harsh realities of the world he inhabits.
