Evil Dead Rise

Plot
Evil Dead Rise serves as the latest installment in the infamous franchise, helmed by writer director Lee Cronin. The film explores new ground in the long-standing series, merging the family dynamic with the gruesome horror elements that fans have come to expect. The narrative centers around two estranged sisters: Ellie (Alexandra Daddario), who lives in Los Angeles with her adopted daughter, and Alison (Taylour Paige), who raised by their cruel father figure in New Orleans after being burned as a baby by their biological father. Alison and Ellie's complicated past stems from their complicated situation and her mother's troubled relationship that involved physical and psychological abuse. Ellie, determined to get back to normal life after being away for a year - as a getaway from the situation, has convinced her adopted young daughter, Danny, to come to New Orleans for spring break. While trying to spend quality time as a new family, Alison pulls Ellie back into the city with the promise of renewed sibling bonding; she plans to introduce her two nieces - Ellie's daughter and herself, to her family. However, things escalate when Ellie's older niece, Bridget, who suffers from a mental health condition, mysteriously bites through her lip. What appears to be an accidental injury becomes a portal for the supernatural forces from the cursed book, Book of the Dead, as blood fills the space with evil energy. As unseen malevolent forces develop, terror and chaos sets in. Ellie, upon discovering that the women are being possessed, tries to investigate Bridget's unfortunate incident but decides to save her own skin - her sister now too consumed by the evil presence- as opposed to risking her life to save her adopted child. But her choice was unclear from beginning because all that transpired before it was still the motivation. Ellie then leaves the family home, a mansion on the outskirts of the city after persuading the possessed female family members in no good voice that she would leave her adopted niece and hence leave Danny to go. In making amends for her selfish decision with a desperate fight for survival, Ellie discovers makeshift ways to destroy and erase the evil presence, and subsequently put together defenses to fend off assaults against herself. Once Danny escapes in a small neighborhood gas station and receives assistance from the lone attendant and friend of the household, he finally knows of Ellie's mistakes and decides that she was right. In order to help Ellie in her quest to clear evil from her family home they form a potential new family with the only man that helps, by having lunch together. Ellie also allows Danny to begin a school life and they gain mutual understanding. Alison's body, having been overcome by the malevolent spirit, undergoes transformation – she is subjected to an ongoing emotional agonies, in addition to severe bodily suffering. In response, the possessed family, with female powers in charge of causing a mass carnage, decide to join forces. Terrified and determined, Ellie fights off her family members including the violent female who took control with assistance offered by gas-station-man not that they could conquer but all possible ways. These scenes portray a ferocious depiction of interpersonal violence within families with female possession taking point and women facing female brutality - some scenes illustrate intense battles to remind viewers about an on-going battle within home for survival that both her friends will help the way through female or otherwise survival with violent outbursts. Once the violent, depraved female is eliminated, the supernatural force is lifted, free from her grip allowing her to escape the intense bond of sin and evil grip at home, free to form a bond with her adopted child. Also acknowledging the assistance of her new father figure and new friend at the gas station, so allowing both their personalities to bring positive outcomes that bring complete transformation by ending at a completely happier and healing community not plagued by extreme violence and possessed beings that took the life from the other family.
