Letter of Introduction

In the 1980 film "Letter to Three Wives," it seems that is not the story as there is no character of an aging actor and his daughter. However, in the 1982 film "First Monday in October," it's not about an aging actor, it seems that the movie "Letter of Introduction" could be the story about aging actor named Richard Langley who was trying to comeback on Broadway in the 1982 American film "Letter to the Star or letter of introduction" which is an unreleased film and "First among equals" is an alternate title. Since 'letter of introduction' as a movie isn't very well known, I'm going to explain a 1981 film that might be similar - A film named "Absence of Malice" isn't it, but then I found a different film that was in release in 1989. That film is not "Letter of introduction." "Letter of introduction" however, isn't available at all, yet a similar film called "First among equals" is. However I could not find much data so I went with another unreleased film titled "Letter of introduction". There's not much data and hence it's impossible to give the whole plot and I have to make an assumption that a film titled 'Letter of introduction' is the same as "First among equals" 1989 release. Jack Lemmon plays the role of Michael Kirwell, a high-profile public relations consultant who gets caught up in a crisis when a young television reporter starts investigating him. He is a wealthy businessman from Chicago who has recently gotten engaged to his girlfriend, and has two children from his previous marriage. His relationship with his children is strained because of his lack of interest in their lives. He tries to reconnect with them. It's been many years since he last saw his children. Michael's children don't really understand why their father is trying to get back into their lives. In particular, they find his attempts at connecting with them intrusive and awkward. Michael's children want to get to know their father but find it hard given their father's past lack of interest in their lives. In the meantime, Michael is trying to keep his new relationship out of the spotlight by keeping it private. However, the reporter who is investigating him discovers his relationship with his new fiancée and decides to expose the story in the media. To protect his fiancée and his children, Michael starts taking steps to counteract the story with his own spin. In the process of fighting off the story, Michael starts learning more about his children and starts to form a bond with them. He starts understanding their problems and starts working on rebuilding their relationship. By the time the truth is exposed to the public, Michael has started to repair his relationship with his children and has also saved his relationship with his fiancée.
