Maidens of the Sea is an enchanting 2014 Icelandic fantasy film directed by Jóhann Jóhannsson, a renowned composer, and his wife, Jóhanna Valdisdóttir. Based on Egil Guðmundsson's 1963 short story, 'Maeruveldis konur' (Maidens of the Sea), the film weaves a poignant and visually stunning narrative that plunges the audience into an otherworldly realm of mystery and wonder.
