Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate

Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate

Plot

In the aftermath of defeating his arch-nemesis Metro Man, Megamind has undergone a transformation. He has ditched his villainous persona and taken on a life as a blue superhero. However, his time as a hero has been quite short-lived, as his former villainous team, The Doom Syndicate, has somehow reassembled and is back to its old, nefarious ways. Led by the cunning and diabolical Minion, the Doom Syndicate has taken umbrage with Megamind's supposed abandonment of their cause and is determined to take down the one they once called their leader. As the Doom Syndicate begins to wreak havoc on Metro City, Megamind struggles to maintain a façade of evilness. This is a difficult task, as his dual identity becomes increasingly strained. His friends, Roxanne Ritchi, Ol' Chum, and Minion's estranged sister Keiko, can sense that something is amiss with Megamind's nonchalant attitude. Meanwhile, his hero identity is becoming more and more pronounced, putting pressure on him to stay true to his blue persona. Minion seizes the opportunity to exploit Megamind's internal conflict by spreading rumors that their former leader has lost his grip on evil. Minion announces that Metro City will be the first to witness the return of The Doom Syndicate, and in a grandiose gesture, cements the city's fate by constructing the machinery needed to launch it to the moon. This brazen plan forces Megamind to come to terms with his role in the city's fate and ultimately, take drastic measure to stop the Doom Syndicate. As news of the Doom Syndicate's plan spreads, the people of Metro City are thrown into a panic. Rioting breaks out as the public fears for their lives and their future on the moon. Desperate to prove his worth as a hero, Megamind goes into hiding, knowing that if his blue persona were to be exposed, he would put not only himself, but his friends and the citizens of Metro City, in grave danger. As the deadline for the launch draws closer, Megamind scrambles to assemble his preselected team, without alerting his Doom Syndicate foes. Megamind joins forces with an unlikely ally - Tighten, The Doom Syndicate's former enforcer turned reformed agent - in an attempt to thwart the Doom Syndicate's plans without revealing their true plan to the public. Tighten, who had been forced into servitude by Minion, comes up with an audacious plan to secretly sabotage the launch facility and disable Minion's mind control device, while simultaneously orchestrating an illusion that would lead Megamind's friends directly to their location. However, Minion has already prepared countermeasures for every possible eventuality. As a precaution, Minion had secretly ordered his main lieutenants, Tarantula, Phylamin and a reawakened Flexo to get started with acquiring a copy of The World's Smartest Man. Back in Roxanne, Ol Chum and Keiko, are soon clueless and lost in confusion after their plan gets ruined by the Doom Syndicate's diversion. During the confusion, Tighten manages to slip away from his enemies and gets to make contact with Keiko, sending her a clue in a comic with 88 numbers on about the team members meeting on the scene of the robbery and kidnapping of "The World's smartest Man" in Metro City at the said time 08:44, in three days. Keiko, unwitting of the plan still initially remains disoriented in confusion after receiving the clue. But just in time, this eventually serves as the breakthrough the team needed, helping them get un-struck with skepticism. Now that the team is well aware of the team that will save her from the evil she serves. Now reunited, the gang heads out to save the day. When the crucial day eventually comes, everything seems to be going the Doom Syndicate's way, but the outcome was everything or the opposite, in stark contrast. All of 'The Doom Syndicate' who previously caused 'Metro City' to face destruction are, not only held captive by Tighten's strategic sabotage but have been reduced as hostages to Megamind's clever deception.
