Plot

In a world where monstrous creatures, known as "Wildstykes," have evolved to become the dominant species, their unique abilities make them prime athletes in the highly popular sport of Monster Wrestling. The sport, which has gained international attention and a massive following, sees these creatures from various parts of the world, each with their distinct species, competing against each other in an arena filled with roaring fans and unpredictable challenges. In this world, a 14-year-old Winnie loves and idolizes her late father, Chet Stevenson, who was a well-known Monster Wrestling coach. Chet left an indelible mark on the sport before his untimely demise. However, Winnie has a passion that sets her apart from the rest – a passion to carry on her father's legacy in Monster Wrestling. Winnie lives in the fictional town of Willow Creek, where the annual Monster Wrestling Championship is held. Despite having big ambitions, she finds herself stuck at Willow Creek's most unpopular monster, a "Wulfric" named Waddle, who's widely considered the worst wrestler in the competition. Initially, Winnie seems no different from the rest, though, and her father's fans speculate that she'll never rise up to be as successful as her father was. Winnie visits an orphan and junkyard, where, to her surprise, she finds Munchie, a young Wulfric monster, who resembles Waddle, Winnie's current charge. In her quest to polish the Wulfric into her hidden gem, Winnie sets out to change both Waddle's image and his underdog self-doubts. Little does Winnie know that this underdog, Waddle, has a magic power that can turn him into Munchie. This coincidence, or rather twist in fairy tales often signifies 'fate' comes handy for Winnie and propels her life. As Winnie begins training Waddle, she eventually lets him take in the extraordinary hidden abilities possessed by Munchie at large, and it occurs to her that he possesses this secret even in his less intense state. Waddle and the team start to get in shape gradually, bringing out Waddle's spirit. Winnie works day and night to prepare Waddle-Munchie to his true champion qualities along with educating him on embracing who he truly is over letting societal pressures get the best out of him.
