#Single

Plot
#Single is a Tamil language romantic comedy film released in 2019. Directed by Sathyasiva, the movie revolves around the complexities of love and relationships. Vijay (played by Naveen Chandra) works as an employee at a bank in the city. His life is mundane, revolving around long hours at work and a seemingly unfulfilling love life. That is, until he lays eyes on Purva (played by Raiza WP) - a beautiful and elegant woman who has recently moved to the city. From afar, Vijay observes Purva and becomes infatuated with her. Without hesitation, Vijay starts to take steps to get closer to Purva, making an effort to be in her vicinity and engage her in casual conversations. His approach is a mix of charm and persistence, but he never reveals the true extent of his feelings. On surface level, he appears to be just a friendly acquaintance, while secretly harbouring romantic intentions. Purva, on the other hand, seems oblivious to Vijay's affections. She leads a busy and independent life and barely takes notice of Vijay's attempts to woo her. She is not opposed to meeting new people or socialising but does not appear to be looking for a romantic relationship. One character who is closely watching Vijay's antics is Harini, a talented but unassuming young woman (played by Ashrita Shetty). Harini secretly harbours strong feelings for Vijay, but is too timid to express them. Instead, she resorts to following him, trying to be in his vicinity and engage him in conversations. She is desperate to gain his attention and capture his heart. Harini's unrequited love for Vijay creates a comedic twist in the story, as she tries to be more noticeable by Vijay, and sometimes ends up getting noticed by Purva instead, inadvertently turning his love life into an awkward and hilarious triangle. As Vijay becomes increasingly infatuated with Purva, Harini finds herself struggling with her own emotions, caught in a web of unresolved feelings and awkward situations. As the plot unfolds, Vijay finds himself torn between his growing attraction to Purva and Harini's desperate attempts to capture his affections. Complications arise when Vijay's true feelings for Purva begin to surface, but his interactions with her remain platonic. Meanwhile, Harini continues to pursue Vijay, albeit unrequited, adding to the comedic elements in the story. In the midst of this complicated love trapeze, Vijay starts to notice Harini's presence and their interactions gradually become more personal and meaningful. His relationship with Purva, however, remains platonic. Vijay starts to question his true feelings and Harini, although still pining for him, finds solace in the budding connection between the two and ultimately becomes the catalyst for Vijay and Purva's blossoming friendship. The climax of the film hinges on Vijay's decision to reconcile with Harini, realising that his unrequited love has evolved into a deep and genuine friendship. As he lets go of his secret affections, Vijay and Harini embark on a journey of growth and self-discovery. Vijay finds love with Purva, but it is the bond he shares with Harini that ultimately brings him peace. At its core, #Single is a relatable portrayal of love and its complexities. The film captures the awkwardness and hilarity that often accompany unrequited love. With a cast of charming and engaging characters, the movie offers a refreshing take on the age-old theme of romance and love. Despite its predictability, the story remains an entertaining and enjoyable ride, thanks to the chemistry and camaraderie shared by the lead actors. In conclusion, #Single is a charming and lighthearted romantic comedy that will leave viewers smiling. It may not delve into the intricacies of love or the complexities of relationships in a profound manner but does provide an engaging narrative, thanks to the well-crafted characters, witty dialogue, and relatable premise.
