Stargate: Continuum

Plot
Stargate: Continuum begins with the events unfolding on the planet P2X-887, during the timeline of the 10th season of Stargate SG-1. The story centers around Ba'al, a System Lord, who had escaped through a time dilation event, a phenomenon that allows for time travel. Ba'al had initially planned to travel to the past, which turned out to be a mission to prevent the events of Stargate's first season from occurring. When Ba'al reaches the year 1937, he discovers that the Stargate in Egypt was discovered in the present day (1997) in an abandoned shaft of an excavation. Ba'al is then informed by the Asgard that to stop the Stargate program, the first Stargate discovery needs to be stopped as it would lead to all subsequent events. Ba'al travels back to the 1940s, when he manages to kidnap Colonel Jack O'Neill and Lieutenant General Jonathan 'Jack' O'Neill is then sent to the 30th century. This prevents his presence in the present and thus prevents the events that led to the first season's Stargate discovery. In the 30th-century, Jack finds himself in an alternate version of the future. The planet where he now resides is inhabited by humans. There, O'Neill discovers that the timeline has undergone significant changes, resulting in a catastrophic war between humans and Goa'uld. In this alternate timeline, the Asgard and the Replicators have also played significant roles, and these entities are at war. After learning of his presence in an alternate timeline, Jack is informed about Ba'al, who had managed to eliminate SG-1 by sending the SG members back to their respective timelines before they were able to discover a way to prevent Ba'al from altering the past. Jack learns that Ba'al also traveled back in the past to the years 1937 and 1945 to eliminate any chance of a first Stargate discovery. Back in the early 21st-century, Cameron Mitchell is leading SG-10 on Earth, attempting to gather the remaining team members. Mitchell, Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, Vala Mal Doran, and Teal'c, all of whom are the alternate universe version's counterparts, find themselves back on Earth, but realize something is amiss. They also notice the differences that Ba'al created by preventing the first Stargate discovery, which resulted in significant changes in the world including differences in cultures and technological advancements. As the timeline unravels, the team realizes they must locate O'Neill in the past. They discover that O'Neill's counterpart had managed to send a team through the time-space vortex after Ba'al's arrival, thus preventing SG-1 from discovering the Stargate. This ultimately led to the elimination of Stargate technology. Meanwhile, in the future O'Neill becomes the key figure in the battle between humans and Goa'uld. After learning that the Stargate program did not come to be, he is determined to return to his own past. O'Neill teams up with the future's version of Samantha Carter, a scientist who shares knowledge of O'Neill's past self. When the SG-1 team in the early 21st-century discovers that Ba'al eliminated their own timelines, they set off to find a way to restore their true timelines and to prevent any further disruptions. The Stargate team locates O'Neill in the 30th-century and sets off on a mission to rescue him. The team then heads back to 1944, in the hope of preventing Ba'al from disrupting history further and restoring their native timelines. The team encounters Ba'al, who reveals that in order to stop the Stargate program, he eliminated not just the events of the first season but also SG-1, and thus the events that led to subsequent seasons were altered. This also meant that the world's history has been affected by the changes made by Ba'al. Upon arriving at the location where Ba'al sent the Stargate program's discoverers, the team discovers the true intentions behind Ba'al's visit to the past. Ba'al was aware that preventing SG-1's discovery of the Stargate would not prevent them from finding another, but the team could be stopped if their knowledge in the ancient knowledge of the Earth and their knowledge of Goa'uld was eliminated altogether, which is when Ba'al eliminated both of SG-1's timelines. However, O'Neill finds it in his heart to forgive Ba'al. This allows the team to restore the Stargate discovery, bringing them back to their own timeline. They return to Earth and, in their native timelines, discover an alternate future created by the altered timeline.
