The Delta Force, directed by Menahem Golan, is a 1986 action-thriller film that takes viewers on a gripping ride as they join an elite team of commandos on a mission to eliminate a group of Lebanese terrorists who have hijacked a commercial airliner. The story begins with a 707 aircraft jetliner, Flight 121, taking off from Athens and bound for Rome and then New York City. As the jetliner soars through the skies, a group of Lebanese terrorists, led by the ruthless and cunning Abu Abbas, slip past airport security and commandeer the plane. The terrorists, armed to the teeth, take control of the aircraft and demand that the pilot, Captain Tom Moller, fly them to Beirut. Unbeknownst to the terrorists, the U.S. government has called in an elite team of commandos, known as the Delta Force, to take down the hijacking crew. The Delta Force team, led by Colonel Andrew Pierce, is a highly trained and skilled unit of special operatives who have been tasked with neutralizing the terrorist threat and securing the safety of the passengers. Meanwhile, back on the ground, a team of FBI agents, led by agent Peter Steiger, is working to track the hijacked plane and assist the Delta Force team in their mission. As the plane continues to fly towards Beirut, the Delta Force team, accompanied by a few handpicked military operatives, prepares to board the aircraft. As the commandos infiltrate the plane, they quickly realize that the terrorists are more organized and better equipped than they thought. The terrorists have taken control of the aircraft's intercom system, have armed the passengers, and are using the plane's own resources against them. The Delta Force team begins to execute its plan, taking out the terrorists one by one in a series of intense and violent confrontations. The passengers, initially terrified and traumatized by the hijacking, begin to rally behind the commandos, providing them with crucial information and assistance. However, the terrorists prove to be a formidable foe, using every trick in the book to try and outsmart the commandos.
