The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Plot
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special begins with a flash of Christmas lights illuminating the galaxy, showcasing the festive atmosphere that pervades various worlds. Among them is Knowhere, the isolated home of the Guardians of the Galaxy, where Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, is struggling to get into the holiday spirit. Frustrated with the lack of excitement on their rocky, festive, yet remote space habitat, Rocket Raccoon approaches Peter with an appealing proposition. Rocket invites Peter to a holovision broadcast on a holiday extravaganza reminiscent of the special that the Raccoon has been enjoying with some new holiday pals at the orphanage he was adopted by on Earth. Recognizing the desire for a more meaningful experience and moved by the vivid memory of the Earthly holiday celebrations, Rocket presents the opportunity to Peter and the rest of the Guardians to travel across the cosmos to Earth in quest of an unforgettable Christmas experience for Peter. Exciting the others with the prospect, Drax the Destroyer and Mantis agree to join their friend, having left their emotional longing behind on their self-imposed search for a more purposeful activity. Their voyage to Christmas to pay an unusual visit to Earth sets a transformative journey for these cosmic space travelers. Their arrival on the "Christmas planet" brings the scene alive. The quartet observes mesmerizing and enchanting city life on a December night, where skyscrapers create an effulgent tree lighting at sundown and nostalgia of snow blankets the atmosphere. Rocket gets ecstatic reminiscing his long held memories. During their travels, they take an unfortunate wrong turn, accidentally landing their highly advanced spaceship in Mirella Durbas's home. Adapting to this unexpected turn of events, they present themselves in a clumsy yet seemingly benevolent gesture, helping them gain access to Mirella's apartment. Peter Quill instantly hits a chord with Mirella Durbas who also appears very excited after the discovery of super stardom personalities. It ends up that the woman has a super eccentric sibling and actually does a "Presents – It's All for You" when they find out who she is hosting. Her sibling as a surprise turns out to be Kevin Bacon in a surprisingly grand and effulgent, joyful return, raising some confusion among Mirella's initially unfamiliar guests, but one that could facilitate Christmas spirit after all. Their Earthly holiday traditions amaze and humbled the Gurdians and all gather to the astonishment of them being discovered hosting "Presents – It's All for You" in front of all her star studded fans. Throughout the entire Christmas celebration on Earth, a bond with their unexpected hosts becomes mutually unconditional to the joy accompanying an astronomical special "Celebration for you" presented on that Earth day while the Guardians took the unassuming task of finding for Peter like their all day favorite childhood favorite presents. A day they would not help but remember when making Christmas, providing joy across vast, cosmic landscapes. Peter chooses exactly what he sought, bringing together everyone for a genuine authentic Christmas, creating cherished memories along the way. With this in mind, it highlights Peter's self-seeking and insistent pursuit for that Christmas he had dreamt and experienced as a child.

Who watched it and didn't think it blew all of Marvel's Phase Four movies out of the water?

Star-Lord relives cherished memories of his father, rediscovers his childhood idol, reconnects with his sister, and celebrates with a whole bunch of friends – truly making him the ultimate Christmas winner!

Guardians of the Galaxy continues to be a bright spot in a largely disappointing Phase Four. Yondu, my beloved onion, I'm still not over his death.

This is the Marvel we've been missing! Hilarious yet heartwarming, every gift is so thoughtful and full of love! It even gives new meaning to Yondu's figurine and Star-Lord's blasters! Rocket Raccoon finally gets his wish, so touching... And what's up with Groot? Did he hit the gym or something?
