The Warriors

In the dystopian, crime-ridden New York City of the 1970s, a gathering of gangs was called by the influential Cyrus, the leader of the Riffs. The purpose of the meeting was for the various gangs to put their turf wars behind them and unite under a single, powerful organization. All gangs were to lay down their differences and work together to gain control over the city. As the meeting progressed, however, the atmosphere turned chaotic when a rival leader, Cleon, saw an opportunity to exploit the tension. Seizing a moment of confusion, Cleon ambushed Cyrus and slaughtered him, slitting his throat in a ruthless manner that would set the tone for the bloodshed to come. The immediate aftermath of Cyrus' murder saw panic and confusion spread throughout the gathering of gangs. Blame pointed in one direction - the Coney Island gang known as the Warriors.
