Trouble

Plot
In 1992, Ivan Reitman directed a crime comedy film that would showcase the unlikely talent of Bill Murray. The movie "Trouble with the Cure" was however released under "Trouble Brew" initially and later in 1993 with a few cuts to the name "Trouble" (though some markets got both), which had a slightly different title; though I've gone with what you requested. However, a very different movie, released in 1992, under the title of 'Trouble' stars William Hurt in the film. Trouble (1992) is directed by Mark Medoff and stars William Hurt as James McAllister. James McAllister, a struggling electronics salesman, seems to have it all together - a charming personality and an undeniable likability. However, things take a drastic turn when James gets accused of murdering a woman he was having an affair with, after a drunken and passionate night. It turns out that this was not James' first slip-up in his life, as he has a history of infidelity. James soon discovers he has been wrongfully convicted of the crime due to police corruption and conspiracies, which put the lives of everyone connected to this situation in jeopardy. This revelation puts James in a very precarious position, where he needs to prove his innocence. While trying to clear his name, James gets entangled in a tangled web of corruption involving a local politician's wife, played by Lea Thompson, and a group of shady business associates of the politician. As James delves deeper into the corrupt underbelly of society, his life slowly unravels. Throughout the film, James struggles to keep up the charade of being a wrongfully convicted man. As he delves deeper into the mystery, James faces many obstacles, one of the biggest being the fact that he is, unbeknownst to him, being played by both parties - the corrupt people who want to keep the truth hidden and his own conscience which keeps reminding him that he is the perpetrator. This moral dilemma makes James struggle to keep his composure. One of James' closest friends and neighbors, played by William Hurt, who is actually the lead character of the film, is a former law enforcement officer who helps James unravel the conspiracy behind his conviction. Through his friend's assistance, James slowly pieces together the puzzle of corruption and conspiracies that brought about his wrongful conviction. The twists and turns in James' quest for the truth keep the audience on the edge of their seats, questioning who is actually guilty and who is innocent. With each new revelation, James finds himself in a more precarious situation, fighting to clear his name before it's too late.
