Yodha

Yodha is a 2022 Indian Action-Thriller Film directed by Sagar Ambre, starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead role. The movie revolves around the survival story of passengers on a hijacked plane. The film begins with Captain Kush Bhardwaj (Sidharth Malhotra) and co-pilot Aditya, commanding a passenger plane. However, tensions at the airport due to a terrorist attack lead to the plane being hijacked by Al-Mansouri (Kabir Bedi), the leader of an extremist group seeking revenge for the supposed beheading of his family. During the chaotic takeover, a commando, Captain Aditya 'AD' Thakur, (Rakul Preet Singh and Sidharth Malhotra have a romantic relationship but eventually fight so Rakul's character is removed from this synopsis), who has been cleared off from duty in mysterious circumstances, is inadvertently left aboard the hijacked plane. Initially, Kush refuses to believe AD is a member of the commandos, to ensure his safety and peace. As the situation worsens, AD keeps up the disguise, faking vulnerability and being clueless. In the chaos, Kush disbelieves AD initially and allows AD to sit in economy class. Kush also deliberately keeps AD at arm's length. However, the situation shifts and one engine of the plane fails, landing it in risk of non-survivable crashes. Under immense pressure, Kush finally opens up and trusts AD's words about the failure. The engine failure prompts Kush to secretly brief AD about their current situation. Kush is skeptical of inviting AD into co-pilot Aditya and his pilot quarters. AD advises Kush to take off as low as possible to quickly rescue and, with AD's influence, an unexpected meeting between Kush and the mastermind. Meanwhile, Kush secretly befriends a young married couple, Rehan and Sneha. A former and struggling cricketer Rehan (Anupam Kher), initially caught up in despair, soon plays a vital role as AD eventually uses him in their plan to save the passengers. While Aditya and Kush learn to understand one another and change sides, Kush also aids their father while Sneha becomes close friends with Kush's doctor daughter. Kush subtly helps Rehna crack his mental struggle with soccer-ball headed rejection anxiety, which inspires him with an excellent potential reaction. Aiding this he tries out various combinations of his unique ability of using the plane's body and AD, he tries to help the crew save all. With help from others Kush learns Rehan uses his cricketing skills in making the best use his reaction time. The potential Rehan with this also starts believing in his own talents which really strengthens his hope. More than Kush or AD, Kush’s 10-Year-daughter eventually becomes a life-changing point in the safety action and mission to kill terrorists. Sidharth Malhotra and Kabir Bedi's final duel further leads to various internal conflicts due to AD's past before Kush. Later with the rescue services.
