Ride Along 2

Plot
Ride Along 2 brings together comedic actors Kevin Hart and Ice Cube in an action-packed buddy cop comedy that takes the characters from the original film to new heights. As the highly anticipated wedding of James Payton (Ice Cube) and Angela (Tika Sumpter) draws near, Ben Barber (Kevin Hart) sees this as the perfect opportunity to prove to his future brother-in-law that he's more than just a joke. However, the wedding plans are put on hold when a new threat emerges in the form of a powerful Miami-based drug lord. James and Ben arrive in Miami and team up with Maya (Olivia Munn) and Mike (Ken Jeong) to track down the notorious crime boss. Maya is a tough and feisty Miami detective who's got a hidden agenda, while Mike is James' best friend from the force who provides comedic relief. As the unlikely foursome begins to gather evidence on the suspect, they soon discover that the main target is a man named Santiago (Benjamin Bratt). Santiago is a ruthless and cunning kingpin who's been flooding Atlanta's streets with high-grade cocaine. With the Atlanta police on the case, Ben and James see this as their chance to prove themselves in the big city and bring down the elusive Santiago. Ben, being his usual eager and enthusiastic self, jumps headfirst into the action, often finding himself in a series of hilarious misadventures. He's always ready to go above and beyond, even if it means risking his life. James, on the other hand, tries to maintain a level of professionalism as a senior police officer, but his years of friendship with Ben make him roll his eyes at his partner's antics. Miami's vibrant and eclectic atmosphere serves as the perfect backdrop for the film's zany antics. The characters zip around the city in high-speed car chases, visit seedy nightclubs, and encounter a motley crew of colorful locals. Throughout it all, Ben's non-stop chatter and goofball antics provide a constant source of comedic relief, often getting himself and James into the most absurd and precarious situations. As they close in on Santiago, the team faces stiff resistance from his loyal henchmen and various Miami street thugs. A string of comedic set pieces ensues as they navigate their way through the Miami underworld, always trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. One particular scene has Ben disguising himself as a street vendor to gather intel on Santiago's operation. In a series of awkward and amusing scenarios, Ben's fake accent and wacky antics fail to fool the suspicious thugs, leading to a series of frantic and comedic missteps. Meanwhile, Maya and Mike provide an interesting dynamic as they try to maintain a professional relationship despite their underlying attraction to each other. Maya's tough exterior hides a vulnerable heart, which she slowly reveals to Mike as they develop a friendship based on mutual respect. In a thrilling climax, Ben, James, Maya, and Mike finally corner Santiago in a high-stakes showdown. They must work together to execute a daring sting operation, bringing the notorious crime lord to justice. With his signature style and panache, Santiago proves to be a formidable foe, but ultimately, the team manages to outsmart him and secure a major victory. As the dust settles and the wedding can finally go ahead, James and Ben share a heartwarming moment, solidifying their friendship. Ben may not have been the most efficient or conventional cop, but his unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm earn James' respect and admiration. Ben has proven to James and himself that he's more than just a joke and has grown into a valuable partner and trusted friend. The film wraps up with a series of hilarious closing scenes, showcasing Ben's over-the-top celebration of their victory, replete with his signature bravado and swagger. The Ride Along 2 sequel brings the action-packed comedy back to its roots, blending high-stakes suspense with ridiculous humor and outrageous antics.
