Plot

Vina: Before 7 Days is a 2020 Indonesian supernatural thriller film directed by Awi Suryadana, who is also known for directing another popular Indonesian mystery drama film, "Before We Lose." The film tells the story of Vina, a young woman from Cirebon, Indonesia, who is brutally murdered by a group of motorbike gang members. Her spirit then decides to seek revenge by exposing the truth behind her death. The film begins with Vina, a beautiful young woman who works as a waitress in a local café. She is charming and has a friendly demeanor, but behind the scenes, she is a strong-willed woman who does not fear anyone. Vina becomes the target of two ruthless motorbike gang members, Dwiki (Wiguna) and Uto (Rizky Alief) of Cipete gang. They are notorious for their crimes in the city and see Vina as an obstacle in their way. On one fateful night, Vina's death becomes the subject of an "accident," which shocks the entire city. However, Vina is not satisfied with the circumstances of her passing, despite the local police investigation that labels her death as a traffic accident. Instead of accepting her fate, Vina's spirit decides to haunt the streets of Cirebon, driven by a fierce determination to reveal the truth behind her murder. Vina's spirit starts to manifest itself in strange ways. She appears to various individuals who are connected to her death, including her family members, colleagues, and even the motorbike gang members themselves. As she interacts with the living, Vina uncovers the dark web of deceit and corruption that shrouds the city's authorities. Her spirit reveals the shocking extent of the motorbike gangs' influence in Cirebon and the cover-up of evidence by corrupt police officers. With the help of a spiritual guide, Vina starts to communicate with the living using a possessed child as her conduit. The child, Rani (played by Ayushita), becomes a medium for Vina to connect with the world of the living and expose the crimes committed against her. As Vina navigates the world of the dead and the living, she meets a detective named Irfan (Andhika Pratama) who is initially hesitant to believe in the supernatural. Despite the skepticism surrounding Vina's existence, Irfan is drawn into the mystery of Vina's death, driven by a desire to uncover the truth and bring justice to her family and the city of Cirebon. Together with Vina's spirit and Rani's guidance, Irfan embarks on a perilous journey to expose the motorbike gangs' atrocities and hold the corrupt authorities accountable. The film takes a thrilling turn as Vina's spirit starts to wreak havoc on the motorbike gangs and their sympathizers, including corrupt police officers. The stakes are raised when Vina's spirit becomes increasingly intense, forcing Irfan and Rani to confront the gang members and fight for the truth. In the midst of the intense action sequence, Vina's story unfolds through a series of flashbacks, which reveal her troubled past and her struggles with the motorbike gangs. These flashbacks provide insight into the events leading to her death and expose the dark secrets that drove Vina's spirit to seek revenge. As the truth begins to unravel, Vina's spirit is able to reveal the shocking extent of corruption and crime that has plagued Cirebon. The film culminates in a thrilling showdown between Vina's spirit, Irfan, and the motorbike gang members, with Vina's spirit fighting to expose the truth and bring justice to the city. Ultimately, Vina: Before 7 Days is a gripping supernatural thriller that combines elements of mystery, drama, and action to tell the story of a young woman's fight for justice and truth. The film raises important questions about the role of corruption in society and the need for justice and accountability. The film is a powerful tribute to Vina's memory and a reminder of the importance of standing up against injustice and fighting for the truth, no matter the cost.
